How to Motivate Your Trade Show Booth Staff

It isn’t only effective booth displays at trade shows that will get you leads; it is your booth staff that will make it happen. If your staff is happy and enthusiastic in what they are selling, it will definitely show to the attendees. Unfortunately, it will also show if they are unhappy and miserable at the display booth. So, what are some things that can be done to motivate these employees and get them excited to talk about their products or services? Keep reading to find out…

Pre-Trade Show Training
Staffers may not be enthusiastic about your products or services because they do not fully understand how they work. Take time to have a training session prior to the event in order to answer any questions they may have and get them familiar with any new products you are selling. Not only will this get your employees more confident in selling your products/services, but they will be able to answer more questions that are brought to their attention by attendees at the trade show.

Prizes
A little competition may be the motivation they need to want to draw in a crowd at their convention display. Offer prizes to the staffer(s) who get the most results at the event. Whether this means gathering lead information or getting sales, they will be excited to work your portable display if they know they could get something out of it!

Give Recognition
Don’t let their hard work go unnoticed; let your team know how much you appreciated their help at the trade show. Take pictures of your staff at the trade show display and publish, along with their name, them in company-wide newsletters or emails that are sent out. Also, send them each an email or thank-you card for their efforts at the exhibit.

Booth staffers are an important part of trade show booths and will want to bring in more sales if these tips are followed.

We suggest thTrade show graphics Workshop, be presented no more than a week before the targeted show. Most often it is presented the day before the show opens, at your pre-show meeting, in a hotel or convention center meeting room. Our Truss trade show displays can be delivered right after the Trade Show Selling Skills Workshop, or in your booth before the show opens. (Video cameras are supplied by The Hill Group for the Presentation Skills Workshop. Your organization will need to supply monitors for playback and review of these taped presentations.) Following the workshops, we recommend working with your staff one-on-one, in your Pop up booths.Used in conjunction with our Exhibit Staff Incentive Program we will be able to focus and motivate the staff to meet show objectives.
